insufficient allocation for flood victims

The Sultan of Pahang, Sultan Ahmad Shah called for the daily allocation of RM8 per flood victim channelled by the Social Welfare Department to be raised. This is because it was not enough to cover 3 meals – breakfast, lunch and dinner. He said even the illegal immigrants and inmates are allocated more than that. In addition, he also hoped that the government would set up more flood relief centres, well equipped with basic amenities like water, electricity and toilets so that the centres could be used for other activities by the residents after the floods.
