tainted China food

In response to the issue of tainted milk for the school programme, the Education Ministry will be monitoring school canteens to ensure that tainted food from China do not get into the system, as stated by the minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein. The task is assigned to the Deputy Minister Dr Wee Ka Siong who chairs the ministry’s safety, health and cleanliness committee. He then explained that all school canteen operators are informed on the list of products which have been banned by the Health Ministry. The committee will also conduct random checks, in addition to ensuring that the school milk programme is not being resumed for the whole year, so that the parents should not be worried anymore regarding this situation.
